SHOPPING LENS!!!

Well well, Readers, What is one thing that all girls absolutely go crazy about? No points for guessing.. Indeed it is SHOPPING. They might not even think twice before divorcing with their newly wedded husbands OR breaking up with their serious/doubtful boyfriends if there is a SALE going on in any of the Super Brand Malls and incase (fortunately/unfortunately for either of them) he is not in mood to go out. Now why this mania is commonly found in female species? There are millions of pretexts to buy:

  1. “Hey, My birthday is coming up, I have no clothes” (When her wardrobe is already inundating with clothes)
  2. “Hey, I think I have gone slim, May be those tight pair of jeans would fit me well” (She is been working out to try those jeans)
  3. “Hey, I think, my clothes are outdated and I need to refresh my wardrobe.” (She has shopped worth Rs 2000 already in the last month)
  4. “Hey, I think its time to set a trend in office/college/even schools/hospitals..”(Hospitals really??)
  1. “I need to buy a “cool” sweater in winter. So, before that I need to window shop from summer season to analyze the prices across malls of the entire city”….. (But often ending up buying the most expensive item as it looked better than the rest even in SUMMER).
  2. “Hey, its time to have a makeover” (This starts from buying nail paint first then essential matching apparel second , then obligatory matching shoes(plus socks if required), then the most important thing suiting hair band in that order..)

It is like a recreational activity for girls. Ironically, they also put in a lot of dedication to pick some of the best clothing apparels out there.

Speaking as a girl, who absolutely loves to shop, I would rather make a truthful factual comment that girls can take their entire lifetime to make sure whatever they buy is not just cool but is different and grab every guy’s and for that matter even girls’ attention ( jealousy in this case)

On the contrary, this psychology commonly ends up making them even more confused while buying stuff. Be it a shoe lace or a hair band, it ought to be uniquely beautiful in its brand. This keeps them with no other alternative than to take someone to accompany them. Now this SPECIAL SOMEONE can even be the girl she is not lately keeping up well with!

Most often this someone turns out to be her boyfriend who is being traumatized of a breakup if he is not supporting in this BIGGEST shopping judgment of her life.

When she is asking him her opinion, she is necessarily not asking him. She is only using him as a sounding board of her thoughts where she can make pros and cons about the clothing item. She knows he is a guy and really doesn’t care about these things. She only pretends to make him feel that his opinions matter but is genuinely not the case.

Once this story happens and next time the guy is sure going to carry a newspaper / book while on similar mission!

When she shops with other girls, she asks them their opinion. If she is doubtful, she might say something like this.."I think it is too short/tight/long/baggy/whatever” and they will respond by saying something like this “I get you, May be we should try something else” OR something like this “No, that looks awesome on you! Believe me”

Well, but this past-time has advantages too. Atleast for credit card offerers. One, she can get over her sorrows if she goes out and tries out any of the apparels she normally doesn’t wear or apply (in my case dark blue nailpaint) only to add one more element in her presenting style. Two, she can get mental satisfaction if her friends praise her or for that matter hunt out for similar shopping items the very next day. (Hell yes, she has set a trend!!!)

Three….. and the list goes on (Prejudiced…Me being a girl)

Recapitulating, if you are a guy, make sure you accompany your friend(gal) or gal-(friend) with alacrity. And If you’re a girl, you are welcome to come with me as My Birthday is coming up!!!! (;))

Cheers,

Kiran

P.S. Pardon me if I have made fun of those boy friends dumped on shopping

grounds.

P.S 3. This article was frivolously written only with the intent of having laid-back humor.
