The Paint Brush

Yesterday night while I was struggling to fall asleep, innumerable thoughts made way into my mind. There was one thing common amongst all of them. They all were associated with incompleteness in my life. I was wondering if there was a paint brush that existed, that would transform whatever that was being painted into reality. I liked that idea and started to paint in my imagination. If indeed such tempting brush was present with me, I would have been pursuing my first semester in a prestigious B-school., I would have been married, I would have met Salman Khan by now, and I would have resembled his lady love ( ;) ) and the tempting list went on and on.

As they say, with great power comes great responsibility and vice versa, I felt powerful and started visualising the broader picture. To me suddenly Earth seemed like my child and Universe full of positive energy. Hastily I threw a bucket of green colour on the deforested lands marked on the globe. Next moment, I was filtering out the polluted air by shading the sky pellucid azure. After that, I was soaking the polluted water from water bodies and brushing it again with pure potable water. I felt cool about it,( literally as temperature swiftly went down to its perfect state.)

Later I felt the need to analyze the origin of this turbulence caused in the first place. It incited the necessity to purify those polluted, corrupted, and distorted human minds because of which inequality is thriving this planet. I felt If I could have one colour that would bless these souls, everything would turn out be as it was supposed to be. It dawned on me that all I needed was just about tint of white colour to be mixed-up up in their intellect. As white denotes peace and purity, there would not be any concept referred to as boundaries, terrorism, politics, diplomacy, negotiation, inequality, crime , corruption, murder, and lot others that are currently soiling our dictionary. There would not be any reason to befriend any one. There would not be any betrayal from anyone. Smile would be the only signature found on human faces. Earth would be a utopian place to live in.

Now as much abstract as it sounds, it is at the same time practical. Couple of small but potentially effective examples: Instead of playing (not sure as how is it referred) Farmville, if we could each plant a sapling and cater to its growth. Instead of judging anybody, trying to justifying their actions in the first place. Instead of copying anybody’s work, seeking to giving them their due credit. Instead of maniacally wasting water/energy, behaving maniacally to conserve it. Instead of pulling anybody down to seek top position in this rat race, trying to climb up the ladder together. If only we all could start sprinkling these positive colours in our ways of living life, in our occupation, in our neighbourhood, slowly but surely “imperfect” word would be completely unheard of.
